Rendering.no builds photoreal 3d animation of complex technologies. Located in Stavanger, the Oil and Gas capital of Norway, but serving worldwide, since 2013 we have delivered over 250 3D animations and 3D visuals for subsea
equipment manufacturers, offshore contractors and energy operators across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia — among them Subsea7, Halliburton, Schlumberger (SLB), Ocean Installer, Hexicon, PetroGas, Seatools, DeepC, Neptune MS.
We excel at making subsea and offshore 3d art for the oil, gas and energy industry — equipment that costs millions, operates where nobody can see it, and has to be explained to people who will not accept something that looks approximately right.
That is the same problem defence communication has. A platform, a sensor, a weapon system or a concept of operations has to be shown doing what it actually does, to an audience that knows the subject better than the person making the 3d animation. We are comfortable there. It is the only kind of work we have ever done.
Most studios approaching defence come from advertising or games. We came from offshore energy, and the difference shows up in a specific place: we are used to clients who open the model, compare it against the drawing, and come back with a list. That means the work starts from your CAD rather than from a reference photo, that a tolerance or a mechanism being wrong is treated as a defect rather than a detail, and that nobody on our side is surprised when an engineer joins the review. Nineteen years of subsea systems, installation sequences and process equipment is unglamorous experience. It is also exactly the experience this work needs.
Everything below is standard on our projects, not a special arrangement. If your process requires more, tell us and we will work to it.
We sign yours. We do not need to see material to quote a piece of work.
Project material lives on studio-managed storage, not in consumer cloud accounts and not on personal machines.
Rendering happens in-house by default. If a deadline needs external capacity we ask first, in writing, and name the provider.
You get the list of people who will touch the project, and it does not change without telling you.
At project close we hand over or destroy working files and source material, whichever you ask for, and confirm it in writing.
